A Charming Retreat

Strong was one of those houses where you walk in and immediately think… okay, this is going to be a lot of work.

A Strong Transformation

There were water issues, damaged floors, and just a long list of things that needed to be fixed. But at the same time, it had a great lot, a pool, and a layout that we knew we could work with. So it became about seeing past everything that was wrong and focusing on what it could be.

The biggest move we made was opening up the main living space and creating a large kitchen. I wanted it to feel like the center of the home! Somewhere you could actually gather, not just cook. We added a big island so even if someone didn’t have a formal dining table, they’d still have plenty of space to sit and entertain.

Design-wise, I went in a completely different direction from Sussex. This one leaned cooler, with chrome finishes throughout. Chrome used to be everywhere, then disappeared, and now it’s coming back; and I loved how it added a little shine and something unexpected compared to all the black hardware you see now.

This project definitely had its challenges, but it ended up being one of those houses where taking the risk paid off. It’s a good example of what we do - looking at something that feels overwhelming at first and figuring out how to turn it into something people really connect with.
